Caring for the nation's military family since 1916. In addition, each new home incorporates a specialist unit to care for those with dementia for which there is an increasing demand. Residents in the new homes are accommodated in large bed sitting rooms with en-suite facilities and continue to benefit from the wide range of therapies and activities which the Charity provides, enabling individuals to live life to the full. Another home will be built in the Buckinghamshire area, where there is a significant and growing need and very little ex-Service provision at the present time. Our award-winning Solihull Home in the West Midlands opened in 2008, Surrey, and the Home to replace the original building on Richmond Hill opened in Surbiton, In August 2013. Plans to build new homes are progressing well. Disabled ex-Service men and women, and their partners, can all benefit from our pioneering approach to nursing and therapeutic care. The Royal Star & Garter Homes, was established to care for the disabled young men returning from the First World War. Today we provide exceptional care in our friendly, founded in 1916, modern and comfortable homes. The state-of-the-art facilities also enable the Charity to offer interim care for young disabled Service personnel.
